SimpMusic earns strong praise for being ad-free, simple to use, and surprisingly full-featured, with many noting smooth background play, playlist sync, offline downloads, lyrics support, and a clean MD3-style interface. Users appreciate customization and quality-of-life touches like volume normalization and skipping silence. Some report occasional buffering or playback hiccups, cache errors on heavy use, and minor lyric sync issues. Feature requests include smarter recommendations, dynamic queues/shortcuts, better offline album ordering, showing local files, improved translation/UX polish, iOS availability, and device-appropriate auto-updates. Overall, a highly capable FOSS client with room for refinement.
