Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Shawn, solo builder of SimpleMonth - my first completed and launched project.
Every month around the first of the month I spent hours and hours working through spreadsheets tracking all my different accounts - bank accounts, credit cards, investments, crypto, etc. everything was always all over the place and I knew there had to be a better way.
I searched through other financial budgeting apps and found them complicated and difficult to sort through. None that I could find really used AI. My goal is what to automate as much as my month end financial process while still knowing how I was doing.
So I decided to just solve my own problem and build it myself. As a first project it was more than I expected and I ran into many challenges, but SimpleMonth now does everything I wanted it to and hopefully it can help others out with the same things.
SimpleMonth is designed to be easy to use and ease the pain of budgeting.
*What you can do with SimpleMonth*
-Choose your own custom budgeting categories
-Import your accounts from banking institutions
-Classify your transactions in the correct categories *or have AI do it*
-Review your monthly budget compared to what you actually spent
-Use voice chat to ask AI what it thinks about your budget and how you can improve
-Add your crypto currency accounts - some crypto accounts auto sync (more expected soon)
-Tracking your monthly investment balances
-Track your monthly net worth balances
-Set goals and keep track of them
-Customize your dashboards and widgets
-Add a partner to your account and share finances with them
-Utilize dark or light mode, English or Spanish
From what I could tell all this was what was most important in a budgeting app for me, but as I gain new users I'll adapt and improve the features to make it even better.
