Highly recommended! I've been using SimpleLogin for a short while and I already have 20+ aliases for various websites. After seeing my e-mail pop up in various breaches and noticing how much more spam I'm receiving, I went ahead and purchased the premium service. The service came recommended on a website I regard highly as well (privacytools.io).
I'm using a custom domain. SL guides you through the process and it doesn't take long to set it up.
I've had contact with support on different occasions. They were quick to respond and very helpful, especially Emma.
The UI is excellent and the extensions integrate well on websites, making it really easy to use.
I hope the service will continue many years to come!
@sinjid Thanks Eric! Emma doesn't use ProductHunt much but I'll pass your message :)

I was looking for such a service a couple of years ago and didn't find one. Then I looked about a month ago and found 4 different services. Tested 3 of them, chose SimpleLogin and immediately upgraded...
A couple of days ago I managed to purchase and configure my domain (.eu domain deal: about 12 Eur for 10 years).
As someone already mentioned, creation of aliases on own domains is somehow limited. It would be good to extend the functionality for own domains:
- Allow '.' in aliases.
- Implement support for directories on domain.
- Adjust the length of the generated words or even provide a list of own words. That might be useful also for other languages than English.
- Btw. do you also have mobile apps on GitHub? Do you accept pull requests from community?
However, I cannot recommend Producthunt - it forced me to use social SSO login instead of SimpleLogin.
@jeniks Thanks! The dot sign (.) is recently allowed in alias :) and support for directories on custom domain is underway!

This is a really great product. I found this when I started to notice my inbox was a bit spammy and I've also got included in some unfortunate breaches. I was thinking of making new emails-- but I found this product. This is a really great tool. I still wonder how this kind of services isn't mainstream yet, but I'm sure SImpleLogin will be a big one if that happens. I also checked out the roadmap and you guys have some amazing goals! I look forward to the future.
I have used SimpleLogin for a year or so and it is super helpful. Especially if you have a lot of domains you want to have secure email, but not have a full fledged google apps account or whatever.

Simplelogin is an amazing project, I'm super glad to have come across this and now I don't know if I could live without it. Being able to easily create email aliases for each and every website and service is a game changer, especially with the catch all feature on a custom domain. BUH-BYE MESSY INBOX!
Hi there ProductHunt
This is Son, the developer behind SimpleLogin here. Thanks @benln for the hunt!
I used to use my Gmail address everywhere, for signing up for new services, subscribing to newsletters, etc. I didn't realize it had become my Internet identity, my "virtual social security numberβ. My online activities could be easily linked together by this address and my mailbox was an easy target for any spam/phishing campaign.
What if there was a tool to create a different email address for each website? What if there was a way you could just disable an address if it starts receiving spams? And it would make it much harder to follow you across the internet. Actually there was already a way. The secret lays with "email aliases", an old, underused technology, but can help us take back control of our mailboxes.
In 2019 I quit my comfortable job to create that tool. It had to be easy to use, yet powerful enough that an email alias can not only receive email but also send it. It had to be open source, because I didn't want to have to trust a closed-source software to forward my emails, and it had to be available to everyone.
That's how SimpleLogin was born.
First launched in beta in 2020, SimpleLogin now regularly receives positive feedback from the privacy community and "influencers". SimpleLogin is available for Web, mobile (iOS, Android) and as Chrome/Firefox/Safari browser extensions.
SimpleLogin is 100% open source and can be self-hosted. Its notable features include sending emails from aliases, two-factor authentication (TOTP, WebAuth/FIDO, TouchID), custom domains, PGP encryption, multiple mailboxes/usernames, and catch-all/wildcard domains.
It's never too late for us to take back control of our mailboxes and our privacy. 30,000 people have already done it and never looked back.
Can't wait to see you creating your first alias.
Cheers,
Son.
