Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Alex, founder of Signal Fifteen.
1. So, why did I build this?
I’ve been in that weird founder mode where you’re constantly asking:
“What should I build next?”
“Is this market real?”
“Am I early, or just imagining the signal?”
“Is there actually a startup here?”
Like a lot of founders, I kept listening to AI, venture, and founder podcasts to build conviction.
But the best moments were never the obvious “takeaways.”
They were small signals buried inside long conversations:
- a founder casually describing a broken workflow
- an investor explaining why a market is changing
- an operator mentioning a bottleneck that keeps repeating
- a CEO saying something that sounds like “someone should build this”
I kept thinking:
“There’s probably a startup hidden in that.”
But normal podcast summaries didn’t help. They told me what people talked about. They didn’t turn the conversation into something a founder could actually explore, pressure-test, or build from.
So I built Signal Fifteen.
2. What does it do?
Signal Fifteen scans trusted AI, venture, and founder podcasts - including YC, a16z, 20VC, and more - and extracts evidence-backed startup opportunities from each episode.
Each idea includes:
- what changed
- why now
- who has the pain
- first ICP
- first wedge to test
- risks
- supporting transcript evidence
It also tracks when signals repeat across episodes, so you can see what is just a one-off spark vs. what keeps showing up.
The goal is not to give founders more content.
The goal is to help founders find what’s worth building before it becomes obvious.
3. What was the hardest part?
The hardest part was filtering.
It’s easy to generate “startup ideas.”
It’s much harder to avoid fake ideas, generic AI wrappers, consulting disguised as software, tiny tools, or ideas that sound smart but have no real wedge.
So Signal Fifteen is built around curation:
- Is this specific?
- Is there evidence in the transcript?
- Is it buildable?
- Is there a real first wedge?
- Could it become venture-scale?
- What is directly supported vs. inferred?
- Has this signal shown up before?
A lot of ideas get rejected before they ever show up.
4. What can you do today?
Today, you can browse curated opportunities, see which signals are new or repeated, save favorites, and go deeper on any idea with one click.
Open any idea in GPT or Claude, or copy the full-context prompt into your own workflow to explore, pressure-test, or start building an MVP.
Each prompt carries the idea context with it: why now, first wedge, ICP, risks, validation questions, pricing, moat, competitors to research, and what to test first.
The goal is not just to collect startup ideas.
It’s to turn each signal into a founder exploration loop - from evidence-backed idea to first test or first build.
