Hey Product Hunt I'm the solo developer behind Sidequick, and I wanted to share the honest origin story. I have a genuine problem with side projects. I start them with loads of energy, get a few days in, take a break, come back a week later with no idea where I was or why I made certain decisions, and quietly never open the project again. My hard drive is a graveyard. I tried to-do apps, Notion, and plain text files. Nothing stuck because none of them solved the actual problem, re-entry. Knowing where you were and feeling motivated to continue. So I built Sidequick. The quest system came from gaming; the dopamine hit of unlocking the next step is real, and it works. The streak mechanic came from Duolingo; guilt is underrated as a productivity tool. The re-entry summary came from my own frustration of opening a codebase cold and having no idea what I was thinking. Everything is local. No account, no subscription, no cloud. You bring your own AI key. I wanted to build something I'd actually trust and use myself. It works for any kind of project.
