Habit apps grind you down with the same task forever. Sidequest flips it: every Sunday you pick one of four weekly dares - try a new café, take a cold shower, go phone-free in the mornings - and commit for 7 days. Snap a polaroid each day. By December you've got 52 polaroids and a scrapbook of a year you actually lived, instead of a broken streak. Local-first, anonymous, no accounts, no guilt-trip notifications. Just one small adventure a week, photographed.

Hey PH,
I built Sidequest because my years were starting to blur. I'd hit December and genuinely struggle to remember what I did in March. Or April. Same weeks, same routines, nothing to point at.
Habit apps although productive, didn't help - they just asked me to do the same thing forever. So I made the opposite. Every Sunday you pick one small dare for the week - try a new café, take a cold shower, talk to a stranger, go phone-free in the mornings. 7 days, one polaroid a day. By December you've got 52 small memories with little polaroids to remember them by.
It's local-first and anonymous. No accounts, no streak guilt, no feed. Just you and the quest.
Two things I'd love to hear:
- which of this week's quests would you actually pick?
- what dares belong in the catalogue that aren't there yet?
