What do you think? …

Jay Gadekar

Hi everyone! We are excited to share Shram 2.0 with the Product Hunt community again today! 😄

We launched 6 months ago and received fabulous feedback to build a better version. We are deeply grateful to each one of you who helped us. It gave us direction and the necessary motivation to continue building even today. ❣️

Our goal at Shram is to build the most delightful work management tool, and in order to do that we want to win the hearts of all our users. Thus we asked ourselves - What if there were an engaging system that would take in all of your daily work and ensure that you are truly recognised for your efforts and impact at work?

Well, that is Shram! ⚡️

We are building Shram to make boring work management fun, engaging and meaningful. How?

❇️ Based on the tasks that you complete, you earn weekly XP.

❇️ Based on your activity, you gain monthly badges that teammates can steal from you.

❇️ All work data is automatically compiled into a work report can be used as a reference for performance evaluations saving you time and effort.

If you have tried conventional tools but could not stick with them, Shram could be a game-changer for you!

As a manager, you can spend more time on your real work instead of pushing your team to log-in their daily tasks into boring tools. As an employee, it could be a fun way of nudging yourself in performing better while being recognised for your contributions! 💪.

In terms of product updates wrt Shram 1.0, we have improved a LOT:

☀️ All new UI - Unlike a completely new interface like before, now we have one that is easier to start with

🍃 Simple organisation - Now you just have folders that you can infinitely nest work in, unlike a fixed hierarchy before

✨ AI-powered insights - AI-generated real-time summaries of ongoing work and holistic work reports

🏆 Better gamification - Monthly badges and weekly XP bars

🎯 New ways to oversee work - We have overview, list view, table view and a Kanban board

🔍 Search in natural language - Search by your memory, not keywords

⌨️ Keyboard shortcuts - No need to switch between your keyboard and mouse

☎️ Live in-app support - Just speak to us anytime within Shram

Also, we have some really cool features planed ahead to boost your productivity with AI:

🚨 Cognitive load status - Know if a person is overburdened and if so, who should be assigned that task instead

🚠 Intelligent LOEs - Find optimal assignments based on your team’s competence to avoid delays

⚔️ Skill improvement - Clear directions on improving skills based on your current proficiency

⚙️ Key integrations - Slack, MS Teams, GitHub, WhatsApp, Discord and more

🍃 Context-aware AI - Create/update work on Shram from your conversations on Slack, Gmail, etc without manual input

🦾 A real work-assistant - Given your past preferences, performance and more, plan your day the best way possible

and more...

Much of what we want to do with Shram is not possible today because the rich, granular work data that is required to drive these outcomes is impossible to collect because we hate logging in work.

Just like last time, we are looking for your feedback to build exactly the features you need to hop onto Shram from your current project management tool. As a token of our gratitude, you can use the PH promo code to extend your free plan. 💸

Special thanks to our hunter Kevin Williams David - @kevin who is supporting us for this launch. We wouldn’t be here today without all your support! Thank you everyone! ⭐️

Praveen chary

Congratulations and all the best Jay.

Jay Gadekar

@praveen_chary Thanks so much Praveen! 😄

Dineshan

@kevin @jay_gadekar Impressive UI/UX, despite the amount of content, it's easy to stay focused. Congrats on the launch

Jay Gadekar

@kevin @dineshan_sithamparanathan Thank you very much! Do try the tool 😄

Jay Gadekar

@kevin @hamza_afzal_butt Thanks Hamza! Do try the tool! 😄

Nika

What size of the team is your target audience for the tool?

Jay Gadekar

@busmark_w_nika Hey Nika! Shram is ideally for teams with size 10-30. But we have 3-10 member teams as well. :)

Nika

@jay_gadekar yes, I think that bigger teams have more sense (because of the costs + in smaller teams it is quite easier to control outcomes of team members) :)

Jay Gadekar

@busmark_w_nika I agree. For primarily these reasons you just mentioned, project management tool are best for teams over 10 members. We do have a lovely pricing strategy though, so cost with Shram wont be a concern as long as you use it actively, earn credits and use those for extended free use 😄

Ojasvika Sahu

This has been an incredibly exciting day. An absolute rollercoaster.

This tool is a labour of love and we would love your feedback on what we have built!

Jay Gadekar

@ojasvika_sahu Yes! Would love amazing feedback like last time :)

Shivam Singh

We are officially live! Looking forward to valuable comments from the PH Community :)

Jay Gadekar

@whatshivamdo Yup! :')

Parth Jain

@whatshivamdo Loved the product and concept

Shivam Singh

@parth_jain11 Thanks Parth! Really happy and appreciate that you tried Shram. Means a lot :)

Zhiqi Shi

Applying gamified design to serious scenarios remains me of Duolingo. Congrats on the launch!

Jay Gadekar

@zhiqi_shi Thank you for supporting us! 😄

Ojasvika Sahu

@zhiqi_shi Thank you! Dare I say, we have more meaningful gamification that Duolingo. Although, I am psyched that Shram reminded you of it!

Michael Vavilov

I like the concept! What is the difference between basic and premium plan? The amount of tasks?

250 task seems ok for small team.

Ojasvika Sahu

@michael_vavilov Thank you Michael! Would love your feedback after you use the tool :)

The basic or the free plan has limited number of tasks i.e. 250. But you can double that too, by using the promo-code listed on PH.

The Premium version of the tool has unlimited tasks, so that you can make the best of the tool and all the insights it can offer!

Happy to give you a quick personal demo if you would like!

Jay Gadekar

@michael_vavilov Hi Michael! Yes, we offer limited usage on our free plan with 250 tasks. But the PH coupon code can make that 500. We do plan on gamifying pricing as well - where being active on the tool offers you credits that can be redeemed to get an extension on the free plan.

We want our users to truly be productive while having fun at work. 😄

Harkirat Singh

Nice, Congrats on launching Shram 2.0 @ojasvika_sahu and @jay_gadekar . The blend of gamification and AI-powered insights is super exciting. how does Shram balance gamification with real productivity? Have you seen cases where users focus more on earning XP than doing meaningful work?

Jay Gadekar

@ojasvika_sahu @harkirat_singh3777 Hi Harkirat! We have built Shram to intrinsically motivate team members into maintaining a system of records, which is a win-win for both the organisation and its members.

Gamification on Shram exists in two parts:

  1. Instant gratification - XP and badges

  2. Meaningful impact - Work reports

1. XP on Shram is merely a quick indicator of weekly progress. Monthly badges are ways to rank the highest on metrics such as most tasks completed, hours worked, tasks approved etc.

^ Both of these are fleeting in nature, meaning - they reset to 0 every week and month respectively so people generally don't chase them actively. 🗓️

2. Its the monthly work report that truly reflects one's impact at work by summarising your significant contributions, notable feedback, areas for improvement, etc. This is automatically generated every month for each team member based on the rich data we collect.

^ Users take this much more seriously as it serves as a reference for a better chance at appraisal. 💸 😊
