Hi Everyone! I am the editor-in-chief of the new online publication shortstory.substack.com and want to introduce you to a new way to both support and enjoy literature. Historically, short stories have always been a large part of the writing world, but the form has died off in recent decades due to more media options than ever before. Also, writers have not been paid competitively for their work, which isn't fair given the effort necessary to create quality art. Enter shortstory.substack.com. We aim to change this environment by curating and publishing one beautiful short story a month and paying $100 + 50% of subscription revenue to the winner. There is no fee to apply, no need to subscribe, any genre can submit, international submissions are welcome, winners keep all other media rights, and reprints are allowed. We have been online now for 6 months and therefore have 6 wonderful stories to read when you sign up for just $5 a month. Free subscriptions are also available, but you will only get the first part of the story. We just hit 101 paying subscribers (2,182 free subscribers) and thought now would be a good time to launch on Product Hunt to share with the wider world. Lastly, I wanted to extend the option to receive one FREE story to anyone who wants it. Just send an email to shortstorystack@gmail.com with the title that you would like. My hope is that in exchange, you help boost the project any way you can, but it is all on the honor system so no proof is necessary! Thank you all! -Mike
