I’m the maker of SHOPOS. I built this ecosystem because I noticed local shops, kiosks, and pharmacies in my neighborhood wanted to look "more serious" and organized, but were priced out by corporate POS hardware. At the same time, regular shoppers were tired of messy pen-and-paper lists and painful payment processes.
SHOPOS changes that. It's built on a blazing-fast local Hive database that works entirely offline, syncing to the cloud only when you want it to. By keeping it mobile-first, any merchant can run an entire store right from a phone or tablet.
A few things I'm particularly proud of:
Localized Checkout: Built-in support for Till numbers and automated E.g. "Lipa na M-Pesa" formatting for Kenyan and regional merchants.
Flexible Payments: Support for Credit and structured Hire Purchase with a live servicing calendar.
Shopper App: Customers can build, compare, and digitally dispatch their lists straight to the merchant for early packing.
