Most grocery apps compare catalogue prices or make you manually budget. Shopmate starts from your actual receipts β scan one, and AI builds a personal price history for everything you buy. So when you see a "special," Shopmate can tell you if it's genuinely below what you normally pay, or just a sticker.

Hey Product Hunters, thanks for checking out Shopmate!
Whenever I do groceries, I always asked the same questions: Is this "special" really a special? Was this cheaper last week? Is it cheaper at the other store? You just⦠guess. And guessing at the checkout adds up fast.
Problem: grocery prices change constantly (Especially in Australia where items can be priced double every other week), there's no price history at the shelf, and "specials" are often just the normal price with a yellow sticker. Shoppers have little to no data so we overpay without knowing it.
Solution: I built Shopmate; scan your receipt, and it turns your everyday shopping into real price knowledge.
Here's what you can do:
- πΈ Scan any receipt: even long, multi-page ones. AI pulls every item, price, and discount automatically
- π Community-sourced price history for any product
- βοΈ Compare prices across stores with fair and easy to glance per-unit pricing ($/ml, $/100g, etc)
- πΈ Spend insights: track grocery spend by week or month and drill into the receipts
- π Searchable history: "how much did I pay for milk last month?" answered in seconds
It's Australia-focused (But open to test in other countries) and the price data is community-sourced; so it gets more useful the more people scan.
π° Pricing: free. No sign-up, no credit card, no catch.
π± Live on Google Play now, and iOS is in beta on TestFlight.
This isn't another budgeting app that makes you type everything in. You already get a receipt, Shopmate does the rest and just tells you when to buy and where.
I'd genuinely would love your feedback and guidance. Try it at shopmategrocery.com, I will read every comment and I'm shipping improvements constantly π
