I'm Kenny and work at Heyo, a full service product agency. Today we're launching Shippy, an API client we made because we got tired of the tools that already exist.

The backstory:

Postman was the obvious choice for years. Then it became a platform. Dashboards, mock servers, AI assistants, a social layer. We kept using it anyway - until the friction cost us more time than it saved.

We looked at the newer offline-first tools like Bruno and Insomnia. The focus was back, but team collaboration meant syncing through Git. Which is fine for version control. Not great when your frontend dev needs to see a change right now*.

So we built what we actually wanted: an API client that's focused and collaborative at the same time.

What Shippy does:

Real-time collaboration: requests, variables, and environments sync live across your team. No pull requests. No stale collections passed around in Slack.
MCP server: sync API changes, scaffold new requests, and update environment variables directly from your AI-assisted workflow. Your API client becomes part of your development loop.
Workspaces + granular permissions: structure your API work around your team structure. Per-workspace, per-member access. View-only or edit. Revoke when the project ends.
Environment variables: define once, reference anywhere with `{{variable}}` syntax. Switch between dev, staging, and prod in one click.
Shippy Scripts: write scripts to automatically store response values as variables. No more updating access tokens on expiration.
Import from other API clients: bring your collections over in seconds. Your requests, folders, and structure carry over intact.

Two modes, one tool:

- Solo: Download the app, test locally. No account needed. Up to 2 users. Free.
- Team: Cloud syncing, MCP server and larger team support. $5/user/month.
