Shipment Investigator helps sort-center teams investigate lost and missorted parcels from a single AWB. It traces operational scans, opens the relevant CCTV evidence, and returns the shipment’s last verified location with an evidence trail. I kept coming back to a very simple operations problem:
A shipment disappears inside a sort center.
The WMS tells you where it was scanned. CCTV may show where it went next. Sorter systems have another piece of the story. But someone still has to manually jump between those systems, find the right cameras, search the right time windows and reconstruct what happened.
Shipment Investigator is my prototype for a different workflow:
Give it an AWB → trace the operational records → open the relevant CCTV evidence → return the last verified location.
The public version is intentionally a demonstrator. The WMS and CCTV evidence are simulated, while the application flow, Google authentication, investigation history, persistence and browser-driven investigation architecture are real.
The larger idea is not to replace a facility's systems. It is to work across the systems already there — WMS, CCTV/VMS, sorter controls, email and older web applications.
For a real deployment, the facility-specific work should mostly be integration: map its WMS, cameras, sorter topology and communication systems into a common investigation workflow.
I'm particularly interested in feedback from people working in logistics, warehousing, sort centers, fulfillment and operations.
