Our journey started not in a typical startup garage, but on YouTube! As content creators focused on tech, development, and computer science, we constantly interacted with our community. A recurring pain point kept popping up: the sheer annoyance and inherent risk involved in writing and managing Linux shell scripts. From subtle bugs to glaring security vulnerabilities, developers were constantly struggling.
We saw this pattern, felt the frustration ourselves, and decided to build a solution. That's how ShellDef was born! Shell scripts can be such a headache for security and just getting them right, so the AI automatically analyzing for flaws and suggesting best practices sounds like a huge time-saver. Ngl, that's kinda genius for everyday dev work. Does it integrate well with common CI/CD pipelines, or is it more of a pre-commit check?
