What do you think? …

Ataol Oktem

If you are a good reader, this site will be a fit for purpose!

Pros:

It is very userfriendly and well designed. I am looking forward using it regularly!

Cons:

As the community around it grows it will be a more useful platform.

Jono Child
Thanks @Aatol - you are correct - community growth is the key, any ideas on how to continue to expand this?
Joanne Magnolia

General knowledge is a fading art, and reading books is being replaced by clickbait and soundbites. This website lets you feel like you're investing in your intellect and you avoid trying to figure out which is the best resource by scrolling through Amazon reviews

Pros:

Love the opportunity to feel like an expert in anything.

Cons:

So much choice, I get sucked in!

Afanasiy Savvin

It's cool to use people-driven recommendation platform when everyone around is building AI-driven stuff.

Pros:

Nice design, interesting concept

Cons:

None

Great product! How did you come up with this idea?
Jono Child
Hey @eugene_alexeev thanks for the feedback. It was a mixture of frustration at not being able to find books to read, other than by trawling blogs, and the fact that Goodreads’ UI was not our favourite. We thought we could design something a bit more like the LinkedIn of books, that looked beauiful and embedded on other sites easily. It been a journey getting to here asking friends to test, give commentary, suggest features etc.

I'm so pleased to find something that delivers what I wished Goodreads did! I respect the problem of good book recommendatoins: I'm a picky reader, and it's rare that even my good friends can successfully recommend reliably, so I'm excited that you may have hit on a niche and approach that reflects the complexity behind a good book recommendation. I love your skumorphic shelf UI!
