Sheil is an open-source, cross-platform tool for managing remote machines and devices with SSH, SFTP, port forwarding, and a local AI command assistant. Built with security and privacy in mind.
I've spent a lot of time jumping between SSH clients, terminals, SFTP tools, port forwarding, and increasingly AI assistants.
I wanted one place for remote/device management, but I also didn't like the idea of blindly sending infrastructure context and commands to a cloud AI provider just to get command suggestions.
So I started building Sheil around a simple idea:
Sheil is still very early, so I'm launching it now specifically to get feedback from people who work with servers, DevOps, homelabs, and remote devices.
