Hello Product Hunt! We're incredibly excited to share the open beta of our new tool, Shard. As a cyber security company, we were constantly frustrated with the existing file-sharing options. They either lacked the robust, client-side encryption we consider essential, or they were bloated with features we didn't need for a quick, secure, one-off share. We needed a professional "fire-and-forget" tool that was built from the ground up with a zero-knowledge philosophy. Shard is our solution. It's unique by design: all encryption happens in your browser using the standard Web Crypto API, so we never see your files or passwords. Every share also comes with a secret destruction link, allowing you to permanently wipe the file from our servers at any moment. We also removed the friction of creating an account and added malware scanning on all uploads to protect the recipient. What we're most proud of is abstracting away the complexity of a secure file sending workflow. Our work involves implementing advanced security, and we wanted to build that same integrity into a tool for everyday file sharing. Shard handles the cryptography so the user doesn't have to think about it. We believe privacy shouldn't be a luxury feature; it should be the default.
