I built Series because I kept opening YouTube to watch one thing and losing 40 minutes to the feed. The problem isn't self-control. The homepage is literally designed to keep you scrolling. Thumbnails, clickbait, and hundreds of options all screaming at once. So I tried the opposite. What if you only ever saw one video at a time? No grid. Just the description of what's in front of you. Watch it or pass. The first version just hid the feed. But I noticed I'd still bail 5 minutes into a good video and go browsing. So I added Strict Mode. Once you commit to a video, you can't leave within YouTube. The back button, refresh, and even retyping the URL all pull you back. There's still a "Give Up" button, but it resets your streak 😅 Along the way, it grew a few more features. It ranks series and long-form videos higher, learns from what you actually finish versus skip, hides Shorts, and includes a Blank Canvas mode that strips everything except the player. I'd genuinely love your feedback, especially on what feels annoying or what's missing. I'll be reading every comment today 🙌

How does Strict Mode actually handle it when you genuinely need to look something up mid-video without immediately nuking your whole streak?

@sercan258794 right now when you turn on the strict mode, it automatically blocks your youtube. although, you can still open a new window and continue browsing but you can't open anything else on youtube.

Reading a short description before each video actually made me pick better stuff instead of getting baited by thumbnails, and Strict Mode is a small miracle for someone like me who normally bails after two minutes.
