Hey Product Hunt 👋 We built SendGrail to send emails securely from our WordPress websites, and we were a little bit frustrated with the current state of WordPress SMTP plugins. Most plugins solve the “emails not sending” problem… until you need something basic like Gmail, Outlook, email logs, routing, or fallback connections — and suddenly you hit a paywall. We noticed something strange in the WordPress ecosystem: critical email delivery features were often locked behind expensive pro plans, even though reliable email delivery shouldn’t be a luxury feature. So we asked ourselves: “What if we built an SMTP plugin where the best features were free instead of hidden behind upgrades?” That became SendGrail. SendGrail is a completely free WordPress SMTP plugin with support for a huge number of providers and integrations, including Gmail, Outlook, Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, Brevo, Resend, SMTP2Go, Zoho, and custom SMTP connections. It also includes features like email logs, routing, failover/fallback delivery, debug tools, and multisite support — all free. During development, our process has evolved a lot. Initially, we thought users only wanted “simple SMTP setup.” But then we realized reliability was the real problem. If email delivery fails, businesses lose: * password reset emails * WooCommerce order notifications * contact form submissions * customer trust So we focused heavily on: * reliability * provider flexibility * fallback routing * beginner-friendly onboarding * developer-friendly controls Another big decision: We intentionally decided NOT to create a pro version. No feature gating. No “upgrade to unlock Gmail.” No artificial limits. Just a genuinely useful tool for the WordPress community.
