Does making something for yourself add friction - or a reason to return?

I ve been thinking about this while building Selfime.

There s a lot of appeal in opening an app, pressing play, and unwinding (tiktok, yt, ig etc.). Asking someone to create their own content means more effort before they get that payoff. When you re making something to share, there s an audience or feedback to help make that effort worthwhile.

But what if nobody else will ever hear it?
