A lot of photo cleaners want $8 a week before they do anything useful. Selects doesn’t. It’s free: no subscription, no ads, nothing locked. It finds the shots you took ten times over and picks the keepers for you. It shows what’s taking up the most space. You can swipe through photos one at a time. And it compresses big videos, with a real preview first, so you keep the moment without the gigabytes. Your photos never leave your iPhone. 62 ratings on the App Store so far, averaging 5.0.

Hey Product Hunt, Václav here.
I got frustrated with photo cleaner apps. Most of them are a pain to use: cluttered screens, scary “your storage is full” warnings, and a paywall popping up before you’ve done anything. And the paywall isn’t small either. Often it’s a weekly subscription, just to delete a few duplicates.
So I built Selects with two rules. It has to be genuinely nice to use. And it has to be free. No subscription, no ads, nothing locked. There’s a tip jar if you want to say thanks, but it doesn’t unlock anything.
What it does: it finds the photos you took over and over and picks the keepers. You just check it and fix what it got wrong. If you’d rather not think about it, swipe through your photos one by one. Tidy up shows what’s taking the most space, and big videos can get a compressed copy (you see a preview first, and the original stays until you decide).
Nothing gets removed until you confirm, and removed photos sit in Recently Deleted for 30 days anyway. Your photos never leave your iPhone.
And yes, I built it with AI tools. I know the category is full of rushed copies right now, so judge it by the reviews: 62 ratings so far, 5.0 average. In the last 30 days, people removed over 145,000 photos and videos with it, about 2.5 TB, and compressed over 1,900 videos.
One thing upfront: it needs iOS 26. Partly because of the new iOS 26 interface, and partly because I’m one guy working on it in the evenings, and supporting fewer iOS versions keeps the testing manageable.
What does any other cleaner do better? I want Selects to be the best one, not just the free one.
