Screen Break helps Mac users take real breaks with full-screen guided rests, smart busy and idle detection, multilingual UI, and friendly limits on skipping. It is built for people who dismiss ordinary timers but still want a healthier work rhythm.
Hi Product Hunt!
I built Screen Break because ordinary break timers are very easy to ignore. A tiny notification appears, I click past it, and suddenly another hour is gone.
Screen Break is intentionally gentle but firm. It lives in the macOS menu bar, then opens a full-screen guided rest when it is time to pause. It includes guided 5-minute rest screens, configurable 30-50 minute work sessions, smart idle reset, busy/environment auto-defer, multilingual UI, and friendly limits on skipping.
The goal is not to be harsh. It is to make the healthy choice a little easier at the exact moment I usually avoid it.
I would love feedback on the balance: does it feel caring, too strict, or just right?

the polite friction around skipping breaks is honestly such a thoughtful touch, it nudges without nagging. love that it actually detects idle time too instead of just running a dumb countdown.
