Hey Product Hunt 👋 We’ve been working on ScoutSubs, and one question around subscriptions kept being more interesting than simply asking whether something is “cheap” or “expensive”: Are you actually getting enough value from it? So we built a set of break-even calculators. The Amazon Prime calculator, for example, lets you enter things like how many Prime-eligible orders you place each month, how much shipping you realistically save per order, and how much value you personally get from the other Prime benefits. From that it estimates your annual value, how far above or below the membership cost you are, and roughly where your break-even point sits. One thing that was important to us was not hiding the calculation behind a score. The assumptions are editable and the formula is visible, so you can disagree with our defaults and replace them with your own numbers. We're starting with subscriptions like Prime, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube Premium, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365 and others.
