School of Code

Hey, I'm Chris from the School of Code. This is a little sneak peek at our Multiplayer Coding Platform! You can team up, collaborate, compete, and have fun coding. We made the platform because learning to code can be lonely, hard, and frustrating - many people get stuck, bored, and without support around them they quit and think "it's not for me". The School of Code platform embeds support and motivation into a multiplayer coding experience, and we want to make coding accessible to everyone. The first thing you do on the platform is make an avatar, but instead of pointing and clicking you code your character, picking up HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills at the same time. These cute little pixel characters stay with you, and as you complete challenges you will be rewarded with points, badges, and be able to unlock cool mini-games to play with your friends. Its a better way of learning to code, and we are launching a Kickstarter campaign to help us develop our prototype further. What do you think? We've used the platform over the last year to teach everyone, from kids and parents with our work at the BBC, to our coding classes with the homelessness charity Crisis, and our upcoming work with Hack Your Future teaching refugees to code.
