I've been receiving tons of scam messages lately — especially on platforms like LinkedIn and Fiverr. With the rise of AI, these scams are getting more convincing, and I realized many people might fall for them. So I built DoubleCheck — a lightweight, privacy-first browser extension that flags scammy messages in real-time using keyword patterns and common red flags.
Unlike heavy anti-virus tools, DoubleCheck is non-invasive and focused entirely on scam awareness across social platforms. I'm most proud that it actually helped me catch a few sketchy messages before I even opened them.
I launched this a year ago as ScamSniff — a DM scam flagger. People kept asking me to check sketchy repos and AI-generated code, so I rebuilt it into DoubleCheck and added a GitHub repo scanner and a secret-leak check.
