Most apps hit you with grammar on day one. SayHanzi does the opposite: it makes your first hour of Chinese fun. Get your Chinese name, find your zodiac, count, learn phrases, and drill HSK 1 — all with pinyin and tap-to-hear audio. Free, no sign-up.

Finally tried this and the chinese name generator is kind of charming, honestly spent way too long trying different inputs to see what i got back.
@tahsinm7m7 Haha, "spent way too long trying different inputs" is exactly the kind of user behavior I was hoping for. The name generator uses a deterministic hash (same input always gives the same result), so feel free to share your Chinese name with friends — they'll get the exact same one if they type in your name. Glad you enjoyed it!
love that the first hour is genuinely playful instead of throwing grammar walls at you right away. the tap-to-hear audio is a really thoughtful touch too, especially for someone trying to nail those tones from scratch.
@berkkise Thank you! The "grammar wall" thing was exactly the frustration I kept seeing — people would install an app, get hit with sentence structure drills on day one, and delete it by day three.
The tap-to-hear audio is built on the browser's Web Speech API, so it works right away without downloading anything. Trade-off is the voice quality depends on the user's device, but for getting those tones into your ear from scratch, it does the job.
Really appreciate you taking the time to check it out!
