What's great
You can literally convert any text into a music playlist. Simple to use, with preview and options to create playlist on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music (did not tested other platforms).
What needs improvement
I would love to sort by musical genre. I saw in the PH comments that the team were working on it and they did it! So I tested it. While it definitely improve the selected tracks versions, some are still not in the selected genre. But I guess it's normal taken into account the priority is text matching, not genre...
vs Alternatives
SpotifySimply because there are no alternative out there allowing to do so. I tried manually on Spotify first but the search tool is optimized for popularity and relevance, not text matching. Which is almost impossible to find the exact text matching. Some database exist with text matching options (MLC or MusicBrainz) but it takes a lot of time to gather the relevant tracks (no preview and no direct comparison of tracks). That where the app Say it with a playlist is very good: type your text, select options, generate... And you've got a playlist with different versions of tracks to select.

This app is great - reminds me of when we used to make mixed tapes to share with friends to tell a story! I just had a question- how much does the music adapt to your profile/music taste over time? Or is this ultimately more about surfacing songs you might not normally be able to find or even know?

It’s a bit of both. Right now (V1), the focus is more on discovery and resurfacing tracks within the catalog. In V2, we’ll introduce deeper personalization so it can adapt more to your music taste over time. Hope this helps:)

Yes, you can discover music from many countries.
The catalog is built from MLC data and includes 230M+ tracks across Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Tidal, and Deezer.
Even though English titles dominate (~69% of the dataset), many of those songs come from artists all over the world.
Using other languages (French, Spanish, Italian, etc.) often makes it even easier to explore diverse origins. Note that simple, conversational phrasing work best.
Feel free to give it a try: generate up to 3 playlists a day without login (5 more if you sign in), with Apple Music links included.

It works in French! I like the preview of the songs. I read in the comments that you can get access to links. How? I'm just using a guest account. Is it possible?

1. when clicking on V1 and/or expand the miniplayer you open the full player. The song link is below the play button (e.g. discover on Apple Music).
2. If you click on the plus icon, you access a menu where all playlist links are available (but it require to login).

Hi @vetgirl , not yet but thanks for the suggestion. The initial data set did not contain genre as a value for each song. But I'm working on it and it might be part of the release in a short future.

@vetgirl @mamypipo Indeed, that's part of the roadmap. I'm looking into a way to simplify genre to its core categories. Last think I want is to loose users in the thousand sub categories that are existing out there. Keep you posted ASAP.
Nice concept. Does the text generation works only in english or can we create messages in other languages too?
Hi @clairette666 , thanks! Any language can work as long as it is contained in a song title. Multilingual messages are also supported, provided they mainly rely on the Latin alphabet.
Other writing systems may work, but the tokenization process is not specifically optimized for non-Latin scripts.
A quick tip: with simple, informal, or conversational phrasing, it is often possible to reach a 100% match. Very formal language tends to match less frequently, as it is less commonly reflected verbatim in song titles.
