Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m Cyprus, the founder of Savd: Save Money.
I started building Savd after noticing something weird about my own spending.
I’ve always been pretty financially responsible and I work in corporate finance, but I still started slipping into impulse spending.
Not because of huge purchases.
It was the small stuff.
$20 here. $40 there. Something on TikTok Shop because it looked like a deal. A late-night purchase because I was bored and already scrolling.
Eventually I realized I wasn’t always buying because I really wanted the product.
Sometimes I just liked the experience of shopping.
And once I noticed that in myself, I started noticing the same thing in people around me.
That became the first version of Savd.
Originally, it was mostly about recreating some of the shopping experience without actually spending money.
But after testing it with real people, I realized that was only one piece of a bigger problem.
The real opportunity was helping people understand the decision before they buy.
Why do I want this?
Is it boredom?
FOMO?
A trend?
Do I actually value the product?
That’s what Savd has grown into.
Today, Savd helps users:
• Bring in something they’re considering buying
• Choose to Buy it, Wait, or Savd it
• Track what they chose not to spend
• See patterns behind their decisions
• Work toward personal goals
• Talk through purchases with Savd Coach
• Learn the psychology behind spending
• Use Savd while shopping online through Safari web browser
The biggest thing I want to make clear is that Savd is not about shaming people for spending.
If you genuinely want something and can afford it, buy it.
Savd is about making sure the purchase was actually your decision and not just boredom, FOMO, or an algorithm pushing you toward checkout.
The current version runs in Habit Mode, so Savd tracks the money you chose not to spend but does not currently move or hold real money.
I’m launching here because I’d genuinely love feedback in this phase of the app as I progress further.
What makes sense?
What doesn’t?
And would something that showed up before the purchase actually help you make better decisions?
Thanks for checking out Savd: Save Money !
