What's great

I'm planning a trip to Japan and wanted to learn basic pronunciation before I go. Sakura Tutor is perfect for this use case. I can practice specific travel phrases and get immediate feedback on my pronunciation. The UI is clean and intuitive — no clutter, just speak and learn.

I looked at Pimsleur and JapanesePod101. Pimsleur is expensive and rigid. JapanesePod101 has too much content and not enough structure. Sakura Tutor hits the sweet spot — simple, focused, and actually corrects my pronunciation in real time.

What's great

Sakura Tutor is the pronunciation coach I've been looking for. I've been studying Japanese for two years with textbooks and apps, but I never knew if I was saying things correctly. This app actually listens and tells me exactly what to improve. The instant feedback is a game-changer.

What's great

As someone with a full-time job, I don't have time for hour-long lessons. Sakura Tutor fits perfectly into my morning commute. 5-10 minutes of speaking practice with instant AI feedback is way more effective than passively watching videos or memorizing flashcards.

What needs improvement

A daily streak feature would help with motivation. Also, exporting pronunciation history to track progress over weeks would be valuable.

vs Alternatives

I considered hiring a tutor on italki but the scheduling was too difficult with my work hours. Automated apps like Anki are just flashcards with no speaking practice. Sakura Tutor is the best compromise — human-like teaching without the scheduling headaches.
