I built RouteWork after spending years in last-mile delivery and seeing the same problems everywhere: dispatchers juggling spreadsheets and phone calls, drivers getting lost or missing stops, and zero visibility into what's actually happening on the road. The problem I wanted to solve was simple—small delivery operations deserve the same real-time tracking and route optimization that Amazon and FedEx have, without the enterprise price tag or complexity. My approach evolved a lot during development. I originally focused heavily on the dispatcher dashboard, but after talking to actual drivers, I realized the driver app experience was just as critical. If drivers hate using the app, the whole system fails. So I stripped it down to be dead simple—big buttons, clear directions, minimal taps to complete a stop.
