The thing that broke monthly budgeting for me was timing. I'd check my balance, see $1,800, feel fine. Rent posted three days later. The number wasn't wrong, it just didn't know rent was coming.
Ritual Runway tracks the paycheck instead of the month. Every bill gets assigned to the check that covers it. What's left is your actual number for the period, updated daily until the next deposit lands.
A few things that surprised people in beta: Phases (try on your next chapter before you live it: new baby, freelance leap, retirement), the tax reserve tracker for anyone with 1099 income, an option to split bills with a partner, and how fast the debt payoff date moves when you can see exactly what's available each check.
The Build Story: I don't write code. I built this over 13 months through a sequence of AI tools: ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, v0, Cursor Agent, and finally Claude Code. Stack: Next.js 16, Supabase, Stripe.
