The Inspiration (Why)
Like many of you, I spend most of my day in macOS. While I love the ecosystem, the native Finder right-click menu always felt too limited. I was constantly doing the "Mac shuffle"—opening a terminal just to create a test.txt, switching to a separate app to unzip a 7z file, or digging through folders for a project directory I use ten times a day.
The Evolution (How)
I started by writing a few simple Automator scripts for myself, but they were clunky. I realized the Mac community needed a polished, all-in-one solution. So I built Rightly. It evolved from a basic "new file" script into a powerful right-click toolkit. Now, you can create files (10+ formats with custom templates), compress/extract (30+ formats with encryption), copy file paths, open terminals, AirDrop, and access your favorite folders directly from the context menu.
