GCSE revision application for the modern student

We remember the pain of revision for GCSEs. They're important exams, but at that age, they aren't a good experience. Modern students require a solution that is digital, mobile, and time optimised. Other revision solutions just don't cut it.

Paolo (a GCSE tutor) and I were discussing the agony his students go through during GCSE exam preparation; I suggested that the well known language learning app Duolingo actually makes learning addictive, social and enjoyable, why can't we apply to logic to GCSEs? So we did, and RevisePal is the result. Paolo has been using it with his students to positive feedback, we've ran minimal marketing campaigns on social media, and saw that students recognised the pain, and got many downloads. We have the main functionality deployed, and are just pending the leader board features to go up, that'll be exciting. Let us know if you like the product concept and design, or if you have any suggestions for how we can make it better, we really appreciate it!

For the first time since the outbreak, national examinations are being held this year in the United Kingdom. According to England's examinations authority, Ofqual, grade boundaries are expected to be lower than in recent years. However, it does not expect grade inflation to be as high as last year. It comes as test material information are issued to aid students in their revision. To combat the spread of Covid, pupils were given grades based on teacher assessments rather than tests in 2020 and 2021. More pupils passed tests and received higher scores as a result of the 11 plus tutors assessment, with record numbers achieving top A-level grades in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
