In last October, while studying at The University of Waterloo, Purushottam Sinha decided to apply for a data scientist’s job with a Bengaluru-based real estate search portal. The 24-year-old did not want his resume to be lost in a maze of others that clutter the inboxes of startup founders. So, he chose to make a video resume. “A video resume shows one’s intent towards the job in a clear fashion. Also, being an in-person format, it cuts the turnaround time to a great extent,” says Sinha. The search portal recruited Sinha. He was the first candidate to send them a video resume. Now, the portal plans to encourage others too to send in their profiles in a similar fashion. Says Akhil Gupta, co-founder of NoBroker, “It’s easy to miss important points when going through a slew of resumes. Video resumes help judge the personality of the candidate and shortlist quickly. We are readying ourselves for video resumes for future recruitments.” Resuvi plans to be the world's foremost video-resume platform where talents from all backgrounds get to apply for their dream job via their video resume.
