Hey @Zeb! Cool product.
Have you ran into any issues re. RentHackr users approaching landlords and asking them for the same rent price as a previous tenant? I can imagine that landlords want to increase their pricing every year.

This is really great, @zeb. My wife and I have been discussing how the rental industry needs something like a “Carfax” to balance the scales a bit more in favor of renters. We’ve rented a location that was broken into with each new renter, but our landlord never told us. We just found out that we were paying for the electricity usage of tenants in adjoining apartments at our current location… I’d love to make sure future tenants are aware of issues and aren’t being scammed.
Will RentHackr allow for this kind of functionality? Allowing some kind of communication between previous and current tenants?
@ryanlinstrom we've got you covered: Every new user provides what we call "Wish I Knew" in 140 characters or less. "If you could travel back in time and tell yourself about this apartment, what would you say?" This small feature is proving one of our most compelling ones.
Hey I'm Zeb, RentHackr's founder. We presented at the New York Tech Meetup last night, and we're excited to hear from Product Hunters today. I'm happy to respond to any questions here. Thanks!
RentHackr is open to users everywhere. But if you see a sparse screen, head over to New York, NY USA using the map search (top left) to get a good feel for how the app works with lots of apartments and users.
