👋 Ahoy hunters and makers, As the world changes in times of the pandemic, businesses are having to quickly adapt, not only for their consumers but also to protect their employees. Many companies are needing to implement full work-from-home policies, and support their staff during this change. ‍ During this time, we wanted to help by sharing some of our top tips for transitioning to a fully remote company. As we adjust to our new normal, some of these tips might outlast the lockdown as we begin to interact as teams again. 📘 In this short guide, you can find tips and tricks that can help you transition to a remote set up. 📋 + We've put together free checklists to download for the most common processes (you can find them at the end of the PDF guide) - Remote Employee Onboarding - Home office set up - Transition to temporarily remote setup - Onboarding new Slack members - Covid-19 Employee Health Check - Remote team building - Boost social interactions in a remote set up - Prepare managers for remote setup Thanks, Tomas from AhoyTeam
Vladimír Seman
great timing for the ebook. what do you consider the biggest challenge when transitioning to remote work?
Tomas Jasovsky
@vladojsem I would say getting rid of the habits from office environment, that everything needs to be so hands-on right away, and the concept of "asynchronous work" could be tough to understand and adopt in larger organisations.
Vladimír Seman
@hellodusko thanks. it makes sense what you write - that habits need to change together with the transition. how would you motivate the employees to work in a new way?
Tomas Jasovsky
@hellodusko @vladojsem There is a group of people that will be excited that don't need to commute, that they can spend time with their kids at home, or introverts who are happy that they don't need to be in open-space offices. I think motivation during this crisis is difficult and probably more focused about ensuring the stability and support to employees. But once things get to normal and being remote is not "staying in quarantine at home while my kids can't go to school" I think the idea of asynchronous work if done right will be a huge motivational factor for employees.

THESE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE SICK!!! who did?
Tomas Jasovsky
@jamiegalbreath hey man, thanks. Friend of mine did them. Unfortunately he doesn't have an online portfolio. But, if you need some illustrations ping me on tomas @ ahoyteam.com and I'll do the intro.
Jamie Galbreath
@jamiegalbreath @hellodusko nice I'll keep that in mind. 🥳
Mihai Cepoi
Hello, do you also address products and processes to change / adapt for working remotely in this ebook? Thank you!
Tomas Jasovsky
@mihai_cepoi Mostly talking processes (especially in the attached checklists) and almost all tips mentioned in the book are applicable to adopt through Slack. If you wanna go deeper on changing products and processes from office to distributed teams, I'm more than happy to show you what we're building at AhoyTeam.

Nice design on that social card! … Who is your designer? … Talking about the cover, and this image: @hellodusko who made it?
Tomas Jasovsky
@hellodusko @rowemore Thanks Rowe, illustrations are done by my friend, but all other designs from cover, to the book layout is all me. Small startup with designer being a founder has its advantages :)
Rowe Morehouse
@hellodusko Excellent. 1) What apps did you use? 2) how did you do the book cover mockup (so it looks like a physical book) 3) How do you do your screenshots and lay them out like that? … THANKS for answering!
Tomas Jasovsky
@rowemore All I use is Sketch and Photoshop. Would you be interested in an article on how to launch on PH, describing even how making assets that works and proving some templates?
Grace Hossepian
Will recommend this to my friend who's about to start her career in HR!
Tomas Jasovsky
@grace_hossepian Thanks a lot, much appreciated.
Rowe Morehouse
@hellodusko Absolutely yes! … I've been collecting good "social cards" (is that what you call them too?) … I mean the 1200x600 (600x300) twitter-card / og-images. Would love to see your process, you are making good ones!
