Hey! š
After 20+ years of living with ADHD and watching my phone accumulate 127 unread app notifications (yes, I counted), I realised something: I never ignore a text message.
That's when it clicked - SMS has a different psychological weight. It feels more "real" and urgent than just another app notification I can swipe away.
So I built reminderr to solve my own problem. It's deliberately simple: ⢠No app to download ⢠No complex features to overwhelm you ⢠Just reliable SMS reminders that actually break through the mental noise
The hardest part wasn't the tech (though learning React while building this was... interesting š ). It was keeping it simple when every instinct says "add more features!"
Currently supporting timezones from London to Tokyo, with 4 free reminders monthly because everyone deserves to remember the important stuff.
Would love to hear from others who struggle with reminder apps - what makes you actually notice a notification?
Happy to answer any questions about the build, dealing with SMS costs, or why I chose boring technology that just works!
P.S. If the site looks a bit rough on mobile, that's because I'm still learning. Function over form for now! š
