I'd set reminders on their phones — medication, an appointment, a wake-up for an early train — and watch them get missed anyway. Not because they didn't care, but because a silent buzz in a pocket is easy to ignore when you don't live on your phone the way we do. So I asked one question: what always gets a response? A ringing phone. People answer calls. ReminderIt makes a real voice call at the scheduled time. If it goes unanswered, a WhatsApp message follows automatically as backup. That's the whole idea — reach people where they actually are. The build taught me something: I started out thinking of this as "another reminder app," then realised the call is the product, not a feature. Most of the work since has gone into the unglamorous parts — reliable scheduling, voice quality, and making setup simple enough that an adult child can configure it for a parent in two minutes.
