Legal help in Africa is still harder to access than it should be. For something as simple as an NDA, employment contract, tenancy agreement, or founders’ agreement, too many people still have to choose between searching online for a document they do not fully trust, paying more than they can afford for a lawyer, or asking around until someone knows someone. And when a lawyer is actually needed, the problem becomes even more obvious. Good lawyers exist everywhere, but many of them are invisible to the people who need them. Finding the right one often depends on your network, where you live, or whether somebody can make an introduction for you. I kept thinking about how strange that is. We can send money in seconds. We can order food from our phones. We can start businesses online. We can work with people across the world. But handling something as important as our legal life can still feel complicated, expensive, fragmented, and intimidating. That is why I started Rellay. We began with a simple question: What if getting legally protected could be as easy as using any other modern product? Rellay starts by helping anyone create the legal documents they need, complete them in one place, sign them, store them, and come back to them whenever necessary. But documents are only the beginning. When someone reaches a point where technology is not enough, they should not have to start searching all over again. Rellay will connect them with the right verified lawyer for their need and jurisdiction someone they can book, pay, speak with, and work with directly from the same place. The goal is not to replace lawyers. It is to remove everything that makes legal help unnecessarily difficult to reach. We are building Rellay for the founder protecting a new idea. For the freelancer who needs a proper agreement before beginning work. For the small business hiring its first employee. For the landlord and tenant who both want clarity.
