Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Marco, the solo developer behind RelayPlay. I built it because my podcast queue kept turning into homework: daily shows piled up, long series took over everything, and episodes I wanted to hear with someone else got mixed into the same queue. RelayPlay tries a different model: • Catch Up reveals a backlog one episode at a time • Hold keeps shared listening separate until you’re ready • Latest + AutoSkip keeps news shows current • Flow stays small and playable Version 1.3 also adds Travel Mode, smarter downloads, CarPlay improvements, and light/dark themes. The "Hold" idea is genuinely useful, but I'd love to see a way to set a Hold shelf to auto-release once enough new episodes pile up in Latest, like throttling backlogs so a show doesn't surprise me with 40 episodes when I finally get to it.

@wright_sailsbury Thanks! I like the problem you’re pointing out. I’m not sure I’d automatically release podcasts from Hold, because Hold is designed to stay completely under the user’s control. Instead, I think it would be more useful to notify you when a podcast on Hold has accumulated a large backlog. At that point, you could choose to keep it on Hold, move it to Catch Up, or remove it. That keeps Hold predictable while still helping users avoid unpleasant surprises.
