Reelax counts every reel/short you scroll across Instagram, TikTok & YouTube — because "340 videos today" hits harder than "5 hours of screen time." Set a daily limit, build streaks, and a brain mascot gets angrier the more you doom-scroll. Free on Google Play, built by a teen.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Syed Abdul Kareem, I'm still in high school and I built Reelax on my own.
It started because I was genuinely scrolling 300+ reels a day and it was wrecking my sleep and my focus. The weird part was that my phone telling me "5 hours of screen time" never made me change anything, it's just too abstract. But the day I actually counted the number of videos and saw 340, it kind of made me sick. That's the whole idea behind Reelax.
So it counts every reel and short you scroll across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, lets you set a daily limit, and there's a brain mascot that gets angrier the closer you get to going over (he sits on a home screen widget so he can guilt-trip you lol). There's also streaks for staying under your limit, focus sessions, and you can challenge your friends to see who scrolls less.
This is my first real app and I built the whole thing solo, including the part that detects the reels and getting it through Google Play's review, so honestly I'm just hyped it's actually out there.
Quick heads up: it's Android only for now (this kind of thing isn't really possible on iOS).
Would genuinely love your feedback, especially what would actually make you keep using something like this. Roast it if you need to 🙏
