When looking for mental health treatment help, people are more likely to turn to the internet than family, friends or medical professionals. We've built a trusted, global platform that helps people find the right treatment center for their needs.

Since starting RehabPath almost 7 years ago, our team has built online resources to help people in various geographies, income brackets, and levels of acuity find mental health treatment. This launch is the culmination of that hard work, industry knowledge, product expertise and experience all consolidated into one global platform at https://recovery.com. My co-founder and I started RehabPath after seeing firsthand the pain that patients and family members were experiencing when trying to find mental health treatment options. It's already hard enough to take that first step to reach out to a center for help, and it's devastating when they can't help you because they don't treat your condition, don't accept your insurance, or a million other reasons. By building an independent, helpful resource, we are ultimately expanding people's access to care and increasing the likelihood they will find a treatment center that not only accepts them, but will work for them. Our business is built on an ethical advertising model. We list treatment centers for free, but we make money from treatment centers that move some of their ad budgets over to our platform to get a larger reach and more exposure to patients that fit their criteria. When a potential patient calls from our platform vs. a random Google search, our paying customers report back that that person is much more likely to become a patient (for the reasons discussed in the last paragraph). Applying a "marketplace model" to behavioral healthcare creates a better experience for patients, providers, and ultimately--we believe-- is a life-saving endeavor. Would love to hear any input you all might have! I've been a PH lurker for many years after initially being involved in a launch on here almost 10 years ago.

Absolutely loving what you're doing! 🎉 It's inspiring to see how you're changing access to mental health treatment - seriously next-level. Quick question - with getting people the right help being so important, how do you keep all the info up to date and accurate for the different treatments centers? Is the center responsible for this info? Keep rocking!

Thanks @andykalmon! We have an in-house research team headed up by @olivia_marcellino working out of our office in Madison, WI. We have a number of ways that we keep that up to date, from developing relationships with free providers, to cross-referencing other data sources. I'll let Olivia add more detail.

Thank you, @andykalmon! Yes, great question! As Ben mentioned our Research Team works toward building an accurate and comprehensive set of treatment options on our site. We continuously add new treatment providers and update existing profiles. We begin relationships with centers to "claim" their profile and review the information we've found for accuracy. This includes getting an admissions email address so we know that messages through our site are going to an active inbox on the center side. Sometimes centers reach out directly to us with updates. Otherwise, we have a cadence for updating profiles. We have some ideas on the roadmap for streamlining data collection and maintenance. I'm all ears for suggestions!

It has been so awesome to watch the RehabPath team grow and execute on their mission-oriented product. This new launch is emblematic of their commitment to their mission of helping people find the care that they need. As a designer, I believe that well-designed platforms have a chance to improve lives--and in this case, it might be saving them as well. Kudos to @benjacamp and the rest of the team for this launch, and rest easy knowing that you're making a huge impact in this space!
