Hey Product Hunt 👋 Geet here, founder of ReceiptRecon.
ReceiptRecon started from a very personal frustration.
Every tax season, I’d spend hours digging through Gmail, WhatsApp, random folders, and shoeboxes trying to find receipts. As a freelancer, I knew I was losing money simply because I couldn’t track expenses properly. And the worst part? I wasn’t alone.
According to industry reports, small businesses lose billions annually due to poor expense tracking and missing documentation. Most tools felt either:
Too complex (built for enterprise finance teams), or
Too basic (just photo storage without real intelligence)
So I asked a simple question:
Why can’t receipt management feel as easy as taking a photo?
That’s how ReceiptRecon was born.
What we built
ReceiptRecon is an AI-powered receipt scanner and organizer designed specifically for:
Freelancers
Small businesses
Solopreneurs
Real estate agents
Digital marketers
You snap a photo → AI extracts the data → expenses get categorized → everything becomes searchable and export-ready.
What makes it different?
Instead of just storing receipts, we focused on:
✅ Clean, distraction-free UX
✅ Automatic data extraction (merchant, date, tax, totals)
✅ Smart categorization
✅ Audit-ready exports
✅ Fast performance (because no one wants to wait for accounting software)
How the journey evolved
Initially, I was building this purely as a “scanner app.”
But while talking to early users, I realized the real pain wasn’t scanning — it was:
Organizing
Finding receipts later
Preparing for taxes
Sharing clean reports with accountants
So we pivoted from “scanner” to “financial clarity tool.”
This launch is just the beginning. I’d love honest feedback from this community — especially:
What would make you switch from your current system?
What’s your biggest expense-tracking pain?
What integrations matter most to you?
Thanks for checking us out 🙌
