As I was working on the product, I kept realizing how hard it is to draw the line between security and invasion. But we found a solution.
If you want to give them “space,” disable the tracking option. But I doubt you will; not because you are curious where they are, but out of love.
Or, if you want to show trust, set clear rules. If they follow the rules, they earn that trust. But trust alone is not enough. Our goal is not just to make sure they don’t run away from home, but to make sure they are safe in a dangerous world.
I believe parents need to learn how to protect their children, no matter the cost. If that means tracking them so we know where they are, then maybe that is what we must do.
