Reading Maps plots real-world journeys from classic novels and films - Moby Dick, The Odyssey, Around the World in 80 Days, Heart of Darkness, James Bond, On the Road - on an interactive atlas.
How do you decide which routes to include, and is there a way for users to submit custom journeys from books you havent covered yet?
@kamildurkaya Great question! I started with 40 of what I considered the must-have's and then asked people what books and movies they think I should include and then had a load of requests come directly from the request a map on the site, I think theres 400+ now. Thank you
Traced Ahab's route from Nantucket and was surprised how far he actually chased the whale. The atlas loads fast and the pins link back to the passages, which makes it feel like a real reading companion.

The slider scrubbing through each character's route is such a nice touch - watching the path unfold across the map makes those stories feel physically grounded in a way re-reading the books never has for me.
