It does works, but it’s not convenient and totally not necessary. Using the build-in accessibility Text to Speech function on MacOS is quicker, offers 42 languages and 70 voices. And, also important, Text to Speech on MacOS is FREE! Learn more here: https://www.apple.com/accessibil... Why did the developer build this app? And why does he want to charge people for his app?

Reading Assistant is a Mac app designed to help people, especially those with dyslexia, read faster, by having the computer read text aloud. Simply select text, copy it to your clipboard, and press play. The variable speed control ranges from 1 to 1,000 words per minute. Users can quickly customize this speed while listening. And with the graph view, past reading speeds are charted out so that users can track their progress. By tracking along with the text being read, people with dyslexia can learn to sight read words and phrases instead of syllables. Over time, this can allow them to read much faster than before, without the help of a computer.
