Hello makers! 🙌
- Are you a developer?
- Solopreneur?
- Don't have a design background?
- Cannot afford a designer?
Or simply want to improve your UI/UX skills?
Then I have something for you. A book about how to make your forms better.
I'm Victor, and I've been working as a frontend and backend developer for more than 10 years.
Have you ever worked in a team that did not have a designer, and you needed to figure out how forms should look on your own? When your boss just asked you to "make it work", without caring how it looks, without caring about user experience?
But you cared? Then, we are in the same boat.
For some unknown reason, my teams almost never had a dedicated designer. Sometimes the designer and developer were the same people. Nobody really cared about design.
I don't like this approach. I think that if you do your job, you should do it well. That's why I'm always researching best practices related to user interfaces.
This book is a compilation of what I know about forms.
P.S. In the complete package there is a thing called FramesX. It's an AWESOME Figma kit for making your designs very fast. I used it to make illustrations for the book. And as far as I know, the second version will be released this week.
So in the complete package, there is a 50% discount that will be relevant for any version, it's just one-time purchase. The Kit itself costs $99+ (and maybe more after the second version, I don't know).
So that's really cool, I was so impressed that I decided to collaborate with the author and get a discount from him :)
So much value in this offering, @victor_ponamariov! I'm curious — do you see these best practices being followed by bigger form builders (Airtable, Typeform, etc.) or are these rare in the wild?
Wondering if some of the big players need some of your expertise as well... 😅
Congrats on your launch today! 👏👏👏
@hugh_lagrotteria Such apps as Airtable of course follow all of these. But there are plenty of old apps that still need to be rebuilt. I migrated to Armenia and for example their banks apps are full of such problems :(
Victor has an outstanding talent for explaining complex things in a visually appealing and easy-to-digest way. I love his work on UI/UX tips and can't recommend this book enough. It's packed with helpful content and has lots of useful information not only on forms but also on usability and interface design.
Five stars.
Excellent work, Victor! There's so much to gain from learning how to create forms following your advice. As a visual learner, the set-up of your book is perfect for picking up complex concept easily. Kudos to you 👏
Bought it and it's gold! Victor gives free design emails and resources, and it's good, really good. As a non-designer but a website builder, it helps me a lot to create quick and well-done forms 🎉
What I learned from this:
Bad forms lose users.
It's difficult to strike the balance between what users need (fast, hassle free forms) and what your app/business requires.
Thankfully Victor writes concisely about good and bad practices.
He clearly explains not just what to do but WHY to do it
The info he gave on accessibility was eye-opening.
