The Raycast free plan includes 5 notes. Upgrading to Pro gives you unlimited notes that are synced and backed up, plus access to AI features, custom themes, unlimited clipboard history, and additional enhancements within Raycast.
Raycast goes beyond app launching by offering: a store to browse/install hundreds of extensions for GitHub, Notion, Linear, and more; custom file search to open files faster; built-in text snippets and quicklinks for repetitive tasks; and even a games launcher.
Yes. Raycast Notes can be used to jot weekly/daily to-dos directly in the Raycast Notes extension. It’s a lightweight notes tool you can open from the Raycast launcher on macOS, suitable for simple task lists. It’s not a full task manager, but works well for quick, actionable to-do capture within Raycast on Mac.

Good milestone @thomaspaulmann . I’m curious how smooth the Windows version feels compared to the Mac experience, especially with extensions and real-time search.

@harkirat_singh3777 we put a lot of effort into making the app fast and responsive. Especially file search is quite an upgrade. And on Windows you can finally search for files in the Root Search without opening a dedicated command.

The best everything hub! Love the vintage windows vibes snuck into the marketing material ✨
Raycast
@sentry_co love the phrase "everything hub"!
I'm genuinely curious - what are the key advantages of RayCast over PowerToys Run? I'm currently using PowerToys Run and wondering if it's worth switching or trying RayCast alongside it.

@generalgda We should probably write up a comparison page but in a nutshell:
Browse and install hundreds of extension to speed up tools like GitHub, Notion, Linear, and more
Use our custom file search to open things even faster
Launch games
Make use of text snippets and quicklinks to speed up repetitive tasks
A lot more but I stop here

@thomaspaulmann , thanks!

@generalgda PowerToys and Raycast are both productivity tools designed for Windows; however, they adopt distinct approaches and feature sets.
PowerToys provides a collection of individual utilities for Windows, whereas Raycast offers a cohesive interface and a contemporary launcher experience, incorporating AI integration, Cloud Sync, and a comprehensive Extensions ecosystem. Raycast emphasizes speed and workflow optimization across all your tools.
In the end what matters the most is what works for you 🙂

I'm so excited for everybody to finally get their hands on this! It's been hard not being able to talk about it all this time, so proud of it all!
Such an awesome release; finally some software on Windows that's a delight to use. 👏👏👏

@itaih Thanks for your kind words and continuous support! Let everyone you know vote too, so we can achieve this goal 😀
This is a masterclass in reducing cognitive friction. The philosophy of shaving seconds off every digital task is brilliant—those small savings compound into massive gains in focus and productivity over time.
As someone who builds systems for habit formation, I deeply appreciate tools that design for effortless, immediate action.
Question for the team: What was the most surprising user behavior you observed that fundamentally shaped the evolution of the core workflow?
Raycast
@patino_varavedo Thanks for the kind words!
Honestly, it's hard to pick just one(or even a few)! So much of how Raycast has evolved comes from observing what the community builds and how people actually use it.
If I had to highlight something: I've been consistently surprised by how people chain simple commands together in ways we never anticipated with deeplinks. What started as individual actions became these personal workflows that are unique to each person.
The other thing is how quickly "nice to have" becomes "can't live without." Features like Clipboard History or Window Management - Most people don't think they need them until they try them, then they become muscle memory within days.
The community has shaped much of what Raycast is today. Extensions we thought would be niche end up being essential for thousands of users, and vice versa - the same with extensions we didn't expect was possible! It's just awesome to see what the future bring and keeps us on the edge all the time 🙂
