Hey Product Hunt π I'm ThΓ©o, the maker of RankMates. Like a lot of you, I play ranked. And ranked has a lonely problem: it's a team game that most of us play completely alone. You get one good game with someone, add them, and a week later your schedules never line up again. So it's back to solo queue: instalockers, silent lobbies and the occasional meltdown in voice chat. The usual "fix" is LFG, spamming "LF duo" into Discord servers and scrolling past dead profiles. I didn't want another LFG feed. I wanted something that actually understands how I play and hands me a few people genuinely worth queueing with. So I built RankMates. Instead of a form with three dropdowns, you have a short chat with Ranky, our matching assistant, about how you really play: your rank, your roles, your playstyle, your schedule, even your tilt level. That becomes a playstyle profile, not just a rank number. Every day you get a small, curated shortlist of compatible players as cards you flip and like. When a like is mutual you become mates, with built-in chat, so you can lock in tonight's session. A few things I care about: - 100% free, no card, and matches are capped per day so it never turns into an endless swipe feed. - Matching respects hard walls first (region, platform, adjacent ranks) before scoring the softer stuff (role fit, overlapping hours, comms style). - 8 games so far: Valorant, CS2, Marvel Rivals, Rocket League, The Finals, Minecraft, Palworld and ARK Survival Ascended. The biggest thing that changed while building it: I assumed rank was the match signal. It isn't. Two people at the same rank can be a terrible fit. What actually makes a stable duo is schedule overlap, complementary roles and attitude. So the whole model shifted from "same rank" to "same way of playing." I'd genuinely love your feedback, especially from anyone who has tried to find a consistent duo and given up. What's the one thing that makes you actually stick with a teammate? Thanks for checking it out π
