Rakun Card gives you peace of mind when traveling. Whether you have ADHD, Autism, food intolerances, allergies, phobias, or other conditions and disabilities, Rakun Card helps you manage and communicate this crucial information in a simple and effective way.
Congratulations to the whole team on the launch! 🚀🦾✨ Love the purpose and simplicity as well as the UI and UX of the app.
Can’t wait to use it on my travels.
@allanberger thanks so much for your support and the great question.
Scaling is a big topic, I'm not too sure yet, I think it's all about talking to people who need Rakun Card, and listen to figure out how to make it better.
I believe there is a big need, so it'll spread, once the product is great.

Great story behind it, great problem you are solving, great team working on it! All the best & keep it up!
@__tosh I’m Verena, a designer of Rakun Card.
We realised that even though there are a lot of printed cards to communicate hidden disabilities, there is no way to communicate these special needs once you’re in a different country where you don’t speak the language.
Be it that you’re experiencing sensory overload at the airport and can’t communicate verbally or that you have celiac disease and need the local restaurant to know about your food intolerances - a digital card that can be easily translated helps you communicate your needs so much easier and faster.
@__tosh great question. 1 in 5 people are somewhere on the neurodivergent spectrum. That's 20% of all humans. So I believe the market is huge.
At this stage I just wanted to help build something useful and share it with the world. I think Rakun Card can help a lot of people, and it can help me.
@__tosh The target audience for Rakun Card is people who like to travel, but feel like it's sometimes harder then it should be. A lot of people who are on the neurodivergent spectrum don't know about it. And that's ok. What matters is that a lot of people have issues in stressful situations, and can get overwhelmed easier than others. In my case it's airports, crowded places, noisy restaurants, etc.
At Rakun Card we want to help people like me enjoy exploring the world in a carefree way.
@__tosh Great question! The whole development process of Rakun Card, from idea to submitting it to the App Store was only 4 days. So we had to keep our setup super lean. The App is pure Swift / SwiftUI and data is stored on device only. For translations we're using DeepL api and store the latest translations on device as well. On nice side effect of this approach is that we could keep the app size down to 1.6mb, which is great in situations with weak Wifi like airports or hotels
