I’ve been dabbling in game development this year, and story-driven games where your choices have a real impact on the characters and ending are by far my favorite kind to create and play. When I started outlining my own stories, I went looking for an app that could help me organize everything: characters, locations, plots, timelines, relationships, and world-building. I found plenty of good tools, but most were primarily focused on the writing itself. They were essentially note-taking apps with some ways to categorize story elements. As a developer, whenever I run into a gap in software I use, I inevitably start thinking, “I could build something that fits this workflow better.” Quill Studio started from exactly that idea: creating a tool that treats story planning and world-building as first-class features, instead of just being an add-on to a text editor. Quill Studio is still very much evolving, and this is just the beginning.
